John Edward Cline, age 83 of Warren, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Windemere Park Assisted Living Facility in Warren, Michigan. He was born March 6, 1935 in Detroit, son of the late Elmer Lynn and the late Fern Margaret (nee: Haigh) Cline.

A Michigan kid who grew up in the Mitten and eventually sought the field of sales for his livelihood, John's first major position was with the General Electric Company. From there his experiences would transfer to the realm of retail where his attention and care to customer service was beyond exemplary. As age prompted new and different decisions in life, and career did not dictate his daily existence, John decided he wanted a new perspective,…and a new home somewhere other than Michigan. So he headed south and settled in the beautiful state of Virginia. With the mountains as his backdrop and the friendly countenance of his new neighbors, Virginia became quite a comfortable place to live.

While living the Virginia lifestyle, one of its attractions that are quite prominent are the antiquing outlets that blanket the state. So what better pastime for a retiree to partake in than the joy of antiquing? And so he did. Connecting the dots in search of those untold treasures became near as popular for John as the panners for gold in the 1800's. But the winds of change began to blow again, and they eventually whisked him off to the seaside haven of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. To be sure, the town is rife with attractions and things to do,…but John simply fell in love with the simple joy of walking down the beach with the sand squishing between his toes. No more winters,…no more shoveling,…no more scraping ice off the windshield,…just basking in the delights of warmth, sunshine, and beachcombing. Now that IS the life!

John was the beloved partner of the late Earl. Loving brother of Margaret D'Amico, Ruth (Melvin) Dyker, Carol (Gary) Clark, and the late Robert Russell Cline. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
